Metros of India - Delhi

India is a rapidly developing country and as the country discovers a new modern, techno savvy image everyday, the cities too get reincarnated into a bustling modern town. At a time like this, I thought I’d let you know of the four grand old pillars of India, the cities that keep on metamorphosing with the changing times.
Today let me tell more of New Delhi the country’s capital and an amalgamation of many historical eras.
Delhi has always been in the heart of political matters because of its geographical location. It was the capital of one of the strongest Dynasties; the Mughals who ruled India for centuries and it was also of prime importance to the British Empire.
Delhi is divided into two parts. The old Delhi or Delhi was one of the capitals of Muslim India between the 12th and 19th centuries. Old forts, mosques and monuments related to India's Muslim history are located here. New Delhi is the imperial city, which was created as the capital by the British. It is spread over a wide area and is lined with imposing boulevards.
Delhi is a major travel gateway into India. It is one of India's busiest entry points for overseas airlines and is on the overland route access across Asia.
Among the places of special interest to tourists in Delhi are the Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Coronation Durbar Site, Raj Ghat, Jantar Mantar, Lakshmi Narayan Temple, Qutab Minar, India Gate, Secretariat Building, Rashtrapati Bhawan, Parliament House, National Museum, National Gallery of Modern Art, Nehru Museum, Rail Transport Museum, International Dolls Museum, Crafts Museum, Gandhi Darshan, Purana Qila, the Zoo, Safdarjung's Tomb, and Bahai House of Worship.
Delhi offers convenience to travelers who want to make it as a starting point of their tour of India. It also has various accommodation facilities to suit every budget. The food choices are endless and international cuisine is a common phenomenon nowadays.
Shopping is good but you have to bargain a lot especially if buying from roadside sellers.
Make a trip to Delhi and you will know the vibrancy of Indian culture a lot better.
